Terrea Shannon-Durbin (Owner)
I began working with children at L& M Gymnastics as an instructor for fourteen years. I enjoyed working with children so much I began working at Family Service Daycare Center as a teacher’s assistant and worked at several other daycares in Springfield and worked my way up to being teacher and director qualified. I attended Lincoln Land College, receiving 52 college credits in Early Child Care, and increasing my knowledge and education of young children. I also taught the music program at Kinder Care here in Springfield. When they closed down, I decided to start my own family child care business, and was licensed in 2007, providing care for five children. For several years, I have been first aid and CPR certified, and very committed to my job.

Mr. Bill (Assistant)
Mr. Bill worked at Springfield 186 Public Schools from 2003- 2012. He started off as a “one-on-one” Special Needs Attendant and would fill in at the schools for In-House and Security. In addition to being a “one-on-one,” in 2006 he assisted the leads with before and after school children in the Scope Program at various schools. Due to the “No Child Left Behind” in 2007, he was hired at the Scope Daycare & Preschool as a teacher’s assistant (still connected to the public schools 186). A year later, he worked as a Special Needs Sub. Mr. Bill attended Lincoln Land Community College where he took up a couple of Early Childhood and American Sign Language courses just to take. American Sign Language is Mr. Bill’s first language and, very fluent in it, he loves teaching the children different signs.
Ms. Tiana (assistant)
Ms. Tiana began working with us at Adventurous Learning Unlimited Daycare since the first day we opened in 2007. She graduated high school in 2010 and continued to work at the daycare full-time. Ms. Tiana attended Lincoln Land Community College, taking a couple of Early Childhood classes. Ms. Tiana continued to work for us part-time, as she attended Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) classes, graduating in 2012. She then continued her education in the nursing field and attended Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) classes, graduating in 2013.
Ms. Tiana continues to have a full share in our daycare program—she coordinates the daycare graduation program and daycare events. She also teaches the children the Chinese and French languages, and helps the children prepare the daycare garden, keeps it cleaned out, and observes the growth stages of the fruits and vegetables with the children.
